AI Estimating for Contractors

Takeoffs turned into bids in minutes, not evenings.

The short answer

AI-assisted estimating turns your plans, takeoffs, and past job data into a priced bid, so you are not rebuilding every estimate from a blank sheet after dinner. It fits contractors bidding a steady volume of similar work, where the shape of the estimate repeats. The AI drafts. You review and you price. It runs on your real numbers and your own job history, not figures somebody made up, and the final call on a job stays yours.

When estimating is the thing to fix first

  • Best fit for trades bidding a steady volume of similar jobs (roofing, HVAC, concrete, remodels) where the estimate structure repeats.
  • Highest payoff where bids are going out late or not at all because the owner is the only one who can price work.

What it actually does

  • turning a takeoff into a line-item bid
  • pricing from historical job data
  • first-pass estimates the owner reviews instead of builds from scratch
Straight answers

What to know before you start

Estimating is the one people most want to hand over completely. That is not how it works, and pretending otherwise gets a system abandoned in a month.

  • Adoption is the point: the workflow has to fit how the crew already bids, or it gets abandoned.
  • Garbage in, garbage out. It leans on the contractor's real pricing and history, not made-up numbers.

Estimating questions we get asked

Can AI actually price a bid, or just help me organize it?

Both, but not the way people expect. It prices from your history: what you charged, what the job cost you, how long it took. That gets you a first-pass number fast. It does not know that this particular homeowner is difficult or that the access is bad, so you still set the final price. What you get back is an evening, not a decision made for you.

Do I have to change how my crew already estimates?

No, and that is the point. If a system does not fit how you already bid, it gets used twice and then dropped. We start by watching how estimates move through your business now, then build around that. If something about the current process is genuinely costing you, we will say so, but we are not going to hand you a new way of working and call it a fix.

How is this different from the estimating software I already pay for?

Most estimating software is a better place to type numbers in. It still waits on you to do the typing. This sits on top of what you already use and does the first pass, then hands it to you. If your current software is doing the job, keep it. We would rather connect to it than replace it.

How much does AI estimating cost?

It depends on the build and how deep it goes. A first-pass bid drafter is a different project than something wired into your job history and your proposal step. The free thirty-minute call is where that gets scoped, and you get a straight answer on whether estimating is even the right thing to fix first.
